The Greater Dowagiac Chamber of Commerce hosts an annual meeting for its business members. Accomplishments and efforts of the organization and of the business community are celebrated and honored at the event.

    Star Sponsor Brings Christmas Spirit Early to Dowagiac

    The Decorate Dowagiac Committee announced today that a Star Sponsor has come forward with a large donation. 

    “We are feeling like little kids on Christmas morning,” stated Melissa Gunn, Decorate Dowagiac Committee Chairwoman, “and thrilled to have the financial commitment of Comcast as our Star Sponsor.  Comcast is donating $2500, providing the funds for the City of Dowagiac’s new Christmas tree topper.”

    Upon seeing the first announcement regarding the holiday lights project, Comcast immediately answered the call to sponsor.

     A new committee, Decorate Dowagiac, announced today their mission of building upon and enhancing the City of Dowagiac’s traditional holiday streetscape decorations.   

    “Our goal is to enhance the basics that are already in stock, and add some new features,” stated Melissa Gunn, committee Chairwoman. “Because commercial décor is expensive, this is going to be a group effort in fundraising in order to build a variety of decorations over a few years.”

    Gunn stated that the first goal is to embellish the City Christmas Tree that is set up in Beckwith Park annually.
